AOT Fun Time Mix 18

Boom!

We just recorded a fantastic Live PA set. It was mainly recorded 108 BPM. The last song goes up to 190 BPM! Anyways listen to it... This is the longest AOT Fun Time Mix. It is 44 minutes and 4 seconds long beating the previous record (AOT Fun Time Mix 17) by 1 minute and 9 seconds.

Army of Techno Grand Prix Live PA 4/17/2010

Boom,

So we played a live show yesterday. It was on the docks just west of the Shoreline Yacht Club in Long Beach, CA. I have attached some pictures to show just how absurd a location this was for a techno live PA.

Holy crap that's a lot of boats...

I am starting to get worried...

While we were setting up I kept saying this was ridiculous...

This was the view from our dock:

So the dock was about 5 feet wide, and we were setup right in the walking path. Most DJ/Live PAs have the luxury of being in a booth effectively on display, we weren't so lucky. The acoustics were downright awful. There was nothing for the bass to reverberate against. I had the mixer and our speakers going full blast, and it was still hard to really thump. Our microphone kept feeding back throughout the set because everything was redlining. About halfway through the set we reached a delicate equilibrium and got the vocals working. You will hear it on the mix, we were on the edge of a feedback loop for most of the show. I would describe this mix as gritty. Another person described it as gravy.

So without further ado, this is the recording of our first live show in 2 and 1/2 years. It is 48 minutes and 38 seconds long.

I want to apologize to those AOT fans that were unable to find the party. It was so underground that we didn't know the exact location until we were about to play and as you can see in the pictures, it was no easy task to find our boat.

Thanks to the Optimist for booking this show,

AOT - Fun Time Mix 17 Rocks Baja California

Boom,

We just recorded yet another AOT Fun Time Mix. Our bass frequencies traveled down the San Andreas fault to Mexico and toppled many people's homes. This was not our intention, but we rock hard. This is the longest AOT Fun Time Mix. It is 42 minutes and 55 seconds long, beating the previous record (AOT Fun Time Mix 11) by 20 seconds.

PC - 27 (I forgot about this one mix)

Boom,

Found a track on my 909 a few weeks ago and I decided to jam out to it today. It is rough around the edges, expect to hear more of it in the next AOT Fun Time Mix. My Dell laptop still has the AIDS, so no Reason yet... The track starts at 210 BPM and ends at 260 BPM. It is 9 minutes and 29 seconds long.

PC - Still Making Music for Some Reason Mix

Boom,

I recorded again without Reason because my Dell laptop has the AIDS. Just MC-909 and me singing threw my headphones at the end. The BPM ranges from 80-116 BPM in this Live PA. It is 37 minutes and 13 seconds long.

I have also cut out the very end of this mix, it is user pattern 21 off my MC-909. I am singing on my headphones while triggering the patterns. This song is 3 minutes and 31 seconds long.

PC - 29

Boom,

29 years.

Here is the first mix of year 29, 2010. It starts and finishes with a 90 BPM track that Wongville recorded over here. The BPM is all over the place on this mix. It is another minimal techno and industrial live PA using only my MC-909, Kaoss Pad 2, and Tascam X-9 mixer. It is 22 minutes and 35 seconds long.

PC - MLK 2K10 MIX

Boom,

My shitty Dell laptop keeps crashing Reason 4.0, so I did a ghetto ass sampling job with Adobe Audition over some MC-909 beats, I think it sounds cool. I was clicking frantically. 100 BPM, Experimental Live PA set by just me, PC, the founder, leader, drummer, chicken eater, janitor, and senior vice president of hot chicks of the AOT, ARMY OF TECHNO. Run on sentences, run on into the darkness and be free... The following is my MLK 2K10 MIX, I have dreams all the time... Most involve the last level of Gear of War 2, but I digress. The MLK 2K10 MIX lasts an appropriately long 19 minutes and 45 seconds long.
